Karen Holbrook to retire as USF Sarasota-Manatee campus regional chancellor

Since her appointment in 2018, Karen Holbrook has successfully led the campus through a period of transformation and growth, including becoming a residential campus for the first time, receiving the largest gift in campus history and developing many important partnerships across the community.

USF Sarasota-Manatee reschedules Brunch on the Bay after Hurricane Milton

The 30th Brunch on the Bay, the signature philanthropic event for the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee is set for Sunday, March 2. The event will again support student scholarships and campus initiatives.

University of South Florida launches 'Tampa Bay Strong' campaign

The University of South Florida has partnered with Follett to create a special edition "Tampa Bay Strong" T-shirt, with proceeds directly benefiting students impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The initiative is part of USF's ongoing commitment to supporting its students and the Tampa Bay community in the wake of the storms.

Hurricane Milton spares USF Sarasota-Manatee of major damage

Buildings on the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus did not suffer significant damage during Hurricane Milton, which made landfall about 10 miles south of campus.

As a parent and USF alum, Maria Gerber knew USF and the Judy Genshaft Honors College was the right choice for her four sons to receive an invaluable education. Gerber and her sons have grown closer as a family as she continues to be involved on campus.

USF College of Education and CORE Construction Raise over $56,000 IN inaugural GYOTL Academy Golf Tournament

The inaugural CORE Construction Grow Your Own Teacher Leader Academy Golf Tournament at the Founders Club in Sarasota on Sept. 30 raised over $56,000 in support for a USF College of Education program at the Sarasota-Manatee campus that prepares teachers in the School District of Manatee County to take leadership roles at their schools.

‘A kindness beyond belief.’ Young girl’s USF family helps her NFL dreams come true

An NFL stadium became 5-year-old Scarlett Bhatia’s field of dreams come true, thanks to her extended family at the University of South Florida.

A “fireside chat” with USF Sarasota-Manatee alum Pete Petersen, a Sarasota businessman recognized for his success as an entrepreneur, has been rescheduled for Nov. 12. The event was postponed in September because of Hurricane Helene. A limited number of free tickets are available at usf.to/pete-petersen

A Fall 2024 Open House will be held from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Nov. 16. A Campus Fair will be from 12-1 p.m. in the main Rotunda. Register here.

The community is invited to visit the Hospitality Learning Lab on Nov. 20, for Bulls Bistro. Each Bistro event runs from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The Bistro on Nov. 20 will feature Cuban cuisine. Tickets are available now.

Recent hurricanes left many USF students facing unexpected hardships. The USF United Support Fund serves as an important resource to help them cover essential needs. Donate here.

USF Sarasota-Manatee's Support-A-Bull Food Pantry is available to students to address food insecurity by providing supplemntal food and toiletry items to students in need. Donations are accepted during any business day at the Main Rotunda desk. List of high demand items.
