- Brings together leaders in drone technologies, education, training, research and application to give the audience a comprehensive overview of the past, present and future of this fast-emerging field.
- Provides attendees with an assessment of the ever-increasing role of drones in agriculture, utility inspection, public safety, national defense and security, surveying, mapping, cinema, photography and other industry sectors.
- Provides insight into the science, technology and engineering behind drones, including Artificial lntelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Internet of Things (IOR), wearables, mobile, Internet, 3-D printing and other emerging technologies.
- Serves as a unique opportunity for industry leaders to gather in an expo setting and showcase their products and research.
- Encourages collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas and applications among drone developers, drone users and drone enthusaists from a broad variety of fields.
- Includes a competition centered around the creative use of drones for demanding applications.
Target Audience
Drone Competition I (FREE and Open to Public)
- This Drone TETRA 2020 competition will identify the most creative design and/or ideas for using drones to solve a social, educational, security, military, agricultural or other problem.
- The competition is open to the public (high school and undergraduate students are encouraged to participate).
- Participants must submit a photo of their drone to enter the competition and should be ready to showcase their drone, answer questions from a panel of judges about the operation of their drone, provide a description of the problem being addressed, and describe the solution, cost and design of the drone.
- Drone operation may be expressed through showcasing, presentation, animation and/or simulation of the drone.
- Project materials, overall design and quality of the presentation will be evaluated by a panel of experts based on merit, impact, originality, creativity, applicability, cost analysis and simulation.
Drone Competition II (FREE and Open to Middle/High Schools)
- This Drone TETRA 2020 competition will identify the fastest team of middle/high school students that can assemble a drone and prepare it for flight. Drone kits will be provided by the conference sponsors.
- The competition is only open to the middle and high school students. Each team can have a maximum of four students.
- Only the first 20 teams to register may participate.
- Each team must be sponsored by a teacher. One teacher can sponsor up to four teams.
- Participating teams will be evaluated by a panel of experts based on their teamwork, speed, neatness, precision, and skills.
Paper Submission
Click here to access the submission page for Drone TETRA 2020. All documents should be created in Word format (.doc or .docx). Please include the presentation abstract, a brief bio, a high-resolution headshot (for Paper Presentation submissions) and team member names, picture of drone (for competition I), and sponsoring teacher’s name (for competition II). Submission deadline is Feb. 15, 2020.
