Duvall Journal
The Duvall Journal of Family Development and Community Health is an annually published, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that is hosted by the Evelyn Duvall Endowed Chair of Family Development and Community Health at the University of South Florida. The Duvall Journal is dedicated to advancing scholarship and practice in the fields of family and community health. The journal provides a platform for interdisciplinary research, interventions, and policy analyses that address critical and emerging topics affecting families and communities in the United States.
Each year, the journal focuses on a special theme to highlight innovative approaches, practical applications, and research contributions within a specific area of interest. Themes may include topics such as addiction, technology, prevention, and other pressing issues impacting communities and family systems.
Mission and Scope
The journal seeks to bridge the gap between research and practice, fostering the dissemination of knowledge that promotes well-being and resilience within families and communities. Our commitment to open access ensures that the work we publish is accessible to academics, practitioners, policymakers, and the public.
We invite contributions that span:
- Family and Community Interventions: Research focused on family and community education, prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm-reduction efforts. These can include programs addressing environmental factors and systemic challenges, and interventions that promote community health and resilience.
- Policy-Level Evaluations: Analyses of policy and service impacts on families and communities.

Editorial Process
The Duvall Journal of Family Development and Community Health employs a blind peer review process to uphold the integrity and quality of published work. Each manuscript is reviewed by two expert reviewers, with final decisions made by the editorial team based on reviewer feedback. Each issue features ten articles selected for their innovation, rigor, and alignment with the special issue theme.
