USF Sarasota-Manatee celebrates spring graduates with on-campus event
The Sarasota-Manatee campus came to life on Tuesday, April 23 as faculty, staff and university leadership joined together to celebrate the students who will graduate this weekend during USF commencement ceremonies at the Yuengling Center on the Tampa campus.
Among those in attendance were Ashlie Cruz, Dylan Schmucker and Bethsagesna Thalon, three outstanding individuals who will soon make the transformation from students to alumni.
USF Sarasota-Manatee's new residence hall now has a name
The first-ever residence hall under construction at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee now has a name: Atala Hall, after a rare tropical butterfly that feeds and breeds in the landscaping on campus.

The College of Education is once again recognized for its graduate education programs and has climbed five spots to no. 38 for public universities in the 2024 rankings released today by U.S. News and World Report. Several factors are evaluated in ranking the 255 education institutions including faculty credentials, admissions and graduation rates and research activity.

A scholarship, support services and a sense of community are attracting the highest echelon of high school seniors, who can choose just about any university they like, to study at USF.
Giving Week 2024 breaks all campaign records
Alumni and friends came together to champion a wide variety of programs, from student scholarships to food pantry support. Of the record-setting 9,259 Giving Week donors, 1,408 gave to the university for the first time. The overall total included a 70% increase in alumni donors from the previous year.
Student Housing — Students committed to living in the new residence hall at USF Sarasota-Manatee are eligible for up to $4,000 in scholarships. An additional $4,000 is available to students who live in the inaugural learning living community.
Commencement — Spring 2024 Commencement is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, through Sunday, May 5, at the Yuengling Center on the Tampa campus.
Faculty and Staff Development — Join the Florida Center for Partnerships in Arts-Integrated Teaching (PAInT) on Tuesday, May 7, for "Painting Mental Health Across the Tampa Bay Region: An Arts Integration Trauma-Informed Workshop." The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. in GL Room 1038 of the USF Health complex on the Tampa campus.
Summer Grant Writing Workshop — Registration is open for the 2024 Summer Grant Writing Workshop, a certificate program hosted and designed to help early career faculty, doctoral students and staff secure funding for their research. The eight-week, virtual summer program, which is open to both USF and non-USF researchers, starts May 27.

Designed to address the unique needs of USF's research community, Bulls iResearch is set to revolutionize how the university manages research projects, ensuring efficiency, transparency and compliance every step of the way.
