USF joins the Association of American Universities
USF's path to AAU membership was first set by the Board of Trustees more than 15 years ago. Achieving membership enhances funding opportunities. According to the AAU, faculty at their member universities perform 63% of the total amount of federally funded basic research ($28.8 billion).
2023 Brunch on the Bay
The time and date have been set for the 2023 Brunch on the Bay, the marquee fund-raising event for the Sarasota-Manatee campus: from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. Co-chairing this year’s event are Lisa Krouse and Rod Hershberger, leading figures in the Sarasota-Manatee business community.
Boundless Bull: Brooke Hansen
An associate professor of instruction in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and the university’s resident sustainability expert, Brooke Hansen is a leader in the growing field of sustainable tourism. Everyone — from her colleagues in the Muma College of Business to industry leaders across the state — wants her perspective on what it means for tourism to be sustainable and what tools are required to make it happen.
Boundless Bull: Madison Siefert
Since enrolling in the Baldwin Risk Partners School of Risk Management and Insurance, Madison Siefert has built a community, a house and a bright future for herself and her classmates in the Delta Beta chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma, the professional fraternity she founded last year.

CBCS students recognized for outstanding research projects
Multiple CBCS students, including Madison Dowdy and Emily Walker of the Sarasota-Manatee campus, were honored at the Student Research Awards Luncheon, hosted by USF Research and Innovation.
JGHC Summer Honors Institute: Mock Trial Intensive — The JGHC Summer Honors Institute: Mock Trial Intensive is now enrolling rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students for Summer 2023. In a week-long session, collegiate mock trail competitors and current law students will support high school students as they learn the step-by-step process of court proceedings and gain knowledge and experience of advocacy, critical thinking, creative thinking, argument construction, basic understanding of the law as it relates to the courtroom, courtroom decorum, logic, reason, rhetoric and public speaking.
