M3 Center journal referenced by Social Sciences Citation Index
Cihan Cobanoglu, PhD, and The Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology (JHTT), are stepping into the spotlight.
The JHTT, which is hosted by the M3 Center for Hospitality Technology and Innovation at USF Sarasota-Manatee, is now referenced by the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), a multidisciplinary index of more than 3,000 social sciences journals worldwide.
“For a young journal to be included in its 10th year in the SSCI is an amazing accomplishment,” Cobanoglu, JHTT founding editor, McKibbon endowed chair and director of the M3 Center, said. “There are only nine hospitality journals indexed in the SSCI in the world. The JHTT is among the best of the best journals now.”
The double-blind, peer-reviewed JHTT, published by Emerald Publishing Ltd., is dedicated to research in technology and e-business in tourism and hospitality. It connects academia with industry.
Along with the JHTT, the M3 Center also hosts The Journal of Global Business Insights and The Journal of Global Education and Research. The center focuses solely on hospitality research.
Cobanoglu said he was proud of the JHTT’s inclusion in the SSCI and praised the work of Managing Editor Katerina Berezina, PhD; Assistant Editor Faizan Ali, PhD; Assistant Editor Seden Dogan, PhD; and Editorial Assistant Muhittin Cavusoglu, PhD.
Ali is an assistant professor at USF Sarasota-Manatee and Dogan is a visiting scholar. Cavusoglu is a visiting assistant professors. Berezina is a former assistant professor at USF Sarasota-Manatee.
“As founding editor, I received so much help from many people,” he said. “As you can see, USF Sarasota-Manatee is well-represented here.”
