The Florida Center for Partnerships for Arts Integrated Teaching (PAInT), based at USF Sarasota-Manatee, has partnered with Embracing Our Differences to host an arts literacy professional development workshop on Saturday, Feb. 2.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in room B336 in USFSM’s Crosley Campus Center. A light breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required by following this link.
Arts literacy specialist Shelly Dorfman will help lead discussion in presenting this arts literacy initiative to teachers from the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) for Grade-Level Reading.
PAInT supports ELC’s mission to prepare children for lifelong success through quality early learning and works collaboratively with Embracing Our Differences to support Sarasota and Manatee county ELC teachers to ensure children receive high-quality care and learning, that all families have the necessary support to ensure their children’s success, and that all children are prepared for academic and lifelong success.
The workshop is designed to provide teachers with the resources and support to ensure their own success and that of their students.
Workshop highlights:
- Four hours of professional development.
- Artist assistance in the classroom.
- A trip to the Embracing our Differences Art Exhibition, with complimentary transportation provided.
- A set of six books for each participating classroom.
- Art supplies for each participating classroom.
