SARASOTA, Fla. (July 10, 2019) — If you or someone you know has a compelling story to tell or an idea to share, TEDxUSFSM is the perfect forum for that message. The theme of the event is “Defining Your Legacy,” and it is designed to celebrate the rich legacies that are the foundation of the Sarasota-Manatee region.
TEDxUSFSM will take place on Nov. 7, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Selby Auditorium at USF Sarasota-Manatee, 8350 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243. The planning committee is currently seeking dynamic and diverse speakers for the event. Anyone who has an interest in speaking is encouraged to apply at tedxusfsm.com by Aug. 1, 2019.
“A legacy is not two-dimensional to us. We recognize it’s a constantly changing idea for people, and we want people to provide new ideas that are consistent with their own idea of legacy. Whether you are just getting started or you have already built your own legacy, we want to hear what you have to say,” said Evan Fruehauf, executive producer of TEDxUSFSM.
TED is an organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks under 18 minutes long, and a TEDx event is an independently organized version of these talks. Speakers are not allowed to promote business or endorse products according to TED guidelines.
TEDxUSFSM is a student-led initiative sponsored by USFSM’s Student Government Association with support from a team of faculty and staff.
