Arts-Integrated Learning

Under the leadership of PAInT Director Denise Davis-Cotton, EdD, the center offers training for pre-service teachers and professional development for practicing teachers to increase their capacity to deliver high-quality instruction that integrates the arts into classrooms.

Partnering with other institutions, the center conducts basic and applied research on policies and practices related to arts-integrated teaching, including publication in the peer-reviewed book series on arts- integrated education.

The center also actively organizes and presents workshops and demonstrations focusing on a variety of topics, including robotics, artificial intelligence and autism awareness.

PAInT provides technical assistance and support, upon request, to the Florida Department of Education, Florida school districts, private schools, charter schools and educator preparation programs in the implementation of evidence-based, arts-integrated instruction, assessments, programs and professional development.

Through USF Sarasota-Manatee campus’s Office of Professional and Continuing Education, PAInT collaborates with arts organizations and Florida school districts in the development and dissemination of online courses that contain outcome-based practices related to arts-integrated instruction, assessment, curricula and programs.
