Dr. Carlos E. Jiménez-Angueira is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Muma College of Business. Prior to joining the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Dr. Jiménez earned a PhD in Accounting from the University of Florida, a Master of Accounting (taxation focused) from UF’s Fisher School of Accounting and a Bachelor in Business Administration-Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez.
He is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Puerto Rico and holds memberships in the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association and the American Taxation Association. His research interests encompass corporate tax, financial reporting, executive compensation and corporate governance.
His work has been published in the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Theoretical Accounting Research and The CPA Journal. Over the last few years, he has taught courses on Entities Taxation, Corporate Tax, Individual Taxation and Cost Accounting. He worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a Cost Analyst and as a Cost Accounting Section Manager prior to starting his career as an accounting scholar. Dr. Jiménez enjoys running, cooking and maintaining a salt water fish tank.
